One repeatable research loop

From storefront discovery to a shortlist you can trust.

01

Capture

Keep the product, not just the picture.

Hover to save an image together with its source page and the product context available on that page.

02

Evaluate

Move candidates through clear stages.

Group products by project, add price and sourcing notes, then mark each one To review, Shortlisted, Rejected or Listed.

03

Revisit

Return without rebuilding the research.

Use search, saved rules, duplicate grouping and local link or price checks today. Cloud continuity comes later.

Use the Pro Preview

Three tools, one repeatable research system.

Open Image Collector from Chrome, then use the Tools menu above your library. These paths match the current extension interface.

First: enable the free Research Pro Preview from Account & Pro. No card or payment is required.

01Available in Preview

Smart analysis

Classify the library, group similar images, and review product links locally.

  1. Open Tools → Smart analysis.
  2. Choose Scan unanalyzed items to build local similarity fingerprints, then run Auto-classify all items.
  3. Review each similar-image group and choose Keep sharpest when the recommendation is correct.
  4. For saved product links, run Check links & prices and optionally set a daily, weekly, or monthly local check.

Similarity and categorization run locally. Online OCR is not yet available and no image is uploaded for OCR in the current Preview.

Projects & rules

File new captures automatically and turn repeated cleanup into reusable rules.

  1. Open Tools → Projects & rules, then create a research project.
  2. Set it as the current capture project and choose the default stage for new items.
  3. Apply search, filters, category, and sorting in the library; save that view as a Smart folder.
  4. In Automation, choose a matching field and keyword, set the actions, save and enable the rule. Use Apply now for existing items.

Enabled rules process new captures automatically. The original project value remains on items even if you later remove the project shortcut.

03Roadmap

Cloud sync

Multi-device sync, version history, recovery, and team sharing are not open yet.

  1. Until cloud sync launches, open Tools → Export backup regularly to save a complete local copy.
  2. Use Tools → Import backup to restore the library or move it to another Chrome profile.
  3. Use Export research CSV when you need a structured product shortlist for review or handoff.

Current Preview data stays in Chrome. Cloud upload does not run silently, and the online sync controls remain unavailable until the service is validated.

Built for repeat product research

A product pipeline, not another image folder.

Free helps you collect images. Research Pro is being built to help frequent sellers keep evaluating, revisiting and handing off the products behind them.

01

Every image stays attached to the product.

Source and original image URLs are saved now; structured site, product, price and shop fields are available in the local Preview.

03

Repeat the work, not the setup.

Reusable local rules, smart views and duplicate grouping reduce routine cleanup across every new research project.

What is the difference between Free and Research Pro?

Free helps you capture, trace, search and download images locally. Research Pro is focused on the continuing product-selection workflow: projects, stages, repeatable rules, monitoring, sync and recovery as each Preview capability becomes ready.

Is Research Pro charging today?

No. Research Pro Preview is open free to extension users. No card is required, checkout is disabled and no subscription starts automatically.

Which Pro capabilities are available now?

Projects, selection stages, structured product fields, reusable rules, smart views, higher local dedupe limits and local link or price checks are available in Preview. Secure sync, cloud history, OCR credits and team sharing remain Roadmap features.

Where is my library stored?

The Free library lives in Chrome on your device. Future online Preview features will send data only after an explicit action and will explain what is uploaded before it happens.

Can Image Collector capture every product image?

It works with standard images on regular HTTP(S) pages. Protected Chrome pages, canvas content, CSS backgrounds and some restricted websites may not be available.

Does collecting an image grant usage rights?

No. Image Collector preserves the source to support responsible research, but you remain responsible for the source site’s terms and the rights required for your use.
